Daisuke Kawashima, a renowned photographer, has unveiled a breathtaking collection capturing the rare "Kumano Sakura" in Kozagawa Town, Japan. This unique cherry blossom, discovered for the first time in 100 years, is a symbol of beauty and preservation, carefully protected by the local residents. Kawashima's remarkable photography showcases the delicate and precious nature of this rare bloom, serving as a new tourism resource for the town.

Located in the mountains, the "Kumano Sakura" blooms for only about three days, presenting a rare opportunity for Kawashima to capture its exquisite beauty. The project, which began in March 2019, aims to promote the "Kumano Sakura" as a tourist attraction, utilizing Kawashima's captivating images for various promotional activities.

Recognized for his exceptional work, Daisuke Kawashima's photography has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Photography and Photo Manipulation Design in 2021, further highlighting the significance of his contribution to the preservation and promotion of the "Kumano Sakura."
