FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FU-MEI CHIU's Aurora Dance project is a unique residence designed to accommodate both cats and humans, focusing on technology, metal, and light and shadow. The 281.7 square meter space, located on the 15th floor in Taiwan, was completed in February 2022. The project features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a multi-functional room, incorporating solid stainless steel, titanium-plated metal, dark wood, and stone to match. The space is adorned with Japanese Cement paint, which has minerals that can absorb moisture and deodorize, as well as its irregular pattern that gives the space a more layered and three-dimensional feeling.
To achieve visual integration and structural stability, the design team used various metal techniques for the cabinet, ensuring a zero-error fit with the cabinet. The space also features scratch-resistant leather and non-staining metal suitable for cats, creating a design that will stand out over time. The project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
FU-MEI CHIU's design philosophy is shaped by real user experience and feedback to needs, emphasizing the integration of building materials and furniture texture to create unique works with authenticity. The team's unchanging principle is to create a happy residence for users, carefully considering the difference between the internal and external conditions of each case to implement the response to the real needs of the occupants.
