Harry-Hongwei Yang's Innovative Wall Light Design

Designer Harry-Hongwei Yang introduces "The Porthole," a wall light inspired by the excitement of air travel. The design aims to evoke the joy and anticipation of a journey, especially during times of limited travel opportunities due to the pandemic. The unique wall light combines emotion and function, offering a customizable and touchable experience.

"The Porthole" features a familiar form and controlling mechanism, allowing users to adjust the light by sliding the glareshield. The scene is changeable and customizable, providing a unique and emotional lighting experience. The LED lampshade panel is coated with Na2O2 nanoparticles, scattering and decomposing light to create a lighting effect similar to sunlight passing through the atmosphere.

The project, which started in April 2021 and concluded in February 2022 in Shanghai, was a result of extensive research and creative design. The design team, including Harry-Hongwei Yang, Zheng Pan, Meng Sheng, Xinyuan Xu, Xiliang Liu, Zijie Zhang, Peiwen Yang, and Haojie Wang, overcame technical challenges to bring "The Porthole" to life.

Harry-Hongwei Yang's innovative design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2022. This award acknowledges the practicality, innovation, and professional requirements met by "The Porthole," contributing to a better world through its competent technical characteristics and emotional fulfillment.
