Magpie Thermo Jug: A Modern Twist on Traditional Chinese Aesthetics

Cacica Tang and Xu Jiyuan have unveiled their latest creation, the Magpie Thermo Jug, at the China Daily-use Articles Trade Fair. Inspired by the symbolism of the magpie as a harbinger of good news and luck in Chinese culture, this thermo jug aims to bridge the gap between consumers and environmental consciousness. The unique design not only serves as a practical addition to modern homes but also draws attention to the harmony between humans and birds, promoting environmental protection.

The Magpie Thermo Jug comes in two sizes, offering capacities of 0.95L and 1.6L, catering to the daily needs of families. Retaining traditional Chinese aesthetics, the jug features a bionic modeling design, blending modernist elements with cultural significance. Crafted with food-grade materials and a German insulation liner, the jug ensures safety, heat resistance, and up to 48 hours of insulation, making it a practical and stylish addition to any home.

Featuring a beak-inspired spout design to prevent dripping and ergonomic handling for effortless pouring, the Magpie Thermo Jug combines functionality with aesthetics. The project, which commenced in December 2020, was completed after six months of dedicated efforts, culminating in its debut at the China Daily-use Articles Trade Fair in July 2021.

The Magpie Thermo Jug has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware Design category in 2023, showcasing its outstanding innovation, technical excellence, and artistic prowess.
