Don Lee's project, Destruction White, redefines architectural space and aesthetics through minimalist design
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Don Lee has unveiled his latest project, Destruction White, a minimalist club that challenges traditional architectural norms and redefines space and aesthetics. The project, located in Nanchang, China, spans 1200 square meters and was completed in February 2020 after starting in April 2019.
The project's inspiration stemmed from a critical analysis of domestic commercial buildings, leading to the use of architectural composition techniques to reconstruct the space. By breaking open the original space structure and utilizing a minimalist approach, Lee aimed to enhance people's experience within the space and break its limitations.
Utilizing materials such as Arabescato, Bianco Botticino, and wood floor, Destruction White embodies a unique blend of destruction and reconstruction, remolding the soul, light, scenery, and wind of architecture into the building. The space harmonizes different materials, skin, tone, and texture, returning to the essence of aesthetic values.
One of the standout features of the project is a suspended steel staircase with ultra-thin treads, connecting the upper and lower space. This staircase, combined with the innovative use of light, creates a dynamic three-dimensional picture, providing an immersive experience for visitors.
Don Lee's Destruction White has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2021. This award acknowledges the project's well-designed, practical, and innovative nature, meeting professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world.
