Waving: A Multifunctional Speaker Inspired by Waves

Ruiwang Xiang, along with the design team of Xiaohan Zhang, Lei Yang, and Chengyong Li, has created Waving, a unique multifunctional speaker that seamlessly integrates desktop storage and music playback. The inspiration for Waving came from the undulating shape of waves, with the speaker's music mimicking the rhythmic motion. This innovative design allows users to store desktop items while enjoying music through Bluetooth connectivity, making it an ideal addition to any desktop or office environment.

Measuring at 160mm×75mm×20mm, Waving features a sliding device on the back for convenient mobile phone storage and is crafted using plastic release technology. The product can be turned on using a key and offers volume control, headphone jack for connecting headphones, and a Type-C interface for charging. The project, which began in Zhengzhou in June 2019, was completed in August 2019.

Ruiwang Xiang, a senior student at Zhengzhou University, led the design process with a vision to create products that enhance people's lives. The Waving speaker has received accolades, including the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding technical characteristics and innovative design. This award-winning creation showcases a remarkable level of excellence, introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder to its users.
