Designtist's Collaboration with Craig & Karl for KT 5G Sculptures

Designtist, in collaboration with pop art designers Craig & Karl, has installed iconic sculptures outside the KT head office in Gwanghwamun, Korea, embodying the ultra-high speed, ultra-low latency, and hyper connectivity of KT's 5G technology.

The sculptures, standing over 3m high, were designed to modernly reinterpret 5G technology, incorporating dynamic designs, vivid colors, and patterns to express connectivity, speed, and data flow. The installation also includes smaller sculptures functioning as benches, creating an artistic resting space for the public to easily understand KT's 5G service.

Utilizing 1.5T SUS and urethane paint, the sculptures cover an area of 32m*6.8m and were meticulously manufactured by bending and welding steel plates to bring the unique form to life.

Since October 2018, these sculptures have been a prominent feature outside the KT head office, providing a visual representation of the innovative 5G technology to the public.

Designtist's collaboration with Craig & Karl has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation category in 2020, showcasing outstanding expertise and innovation in design.
