Bodu Resort: Can Zhang's Unique Hotel Project

Located on a cliff 40 meters above the ground in Xishuangbanna, Bodu Resort is a testament to Can Zhang's innovative approach to hotel design. The hotel embraces thousands of mu of forest, offering guests a chance to immerse themselves in the mild and humid climate of Southeast Asia and experience the rich and diverse ethnic customs of the region.

What sets Bodu Resort apart is its unique design that extends into the adjacent rubber and tropical rain forests. The suspended "glass box" structure serves as a bridge between the hotel and nature, creating a harmonious and symbiotic relationship that is truly unparalleled in the realm of resort hotels.

Can Zhang's emphasis on using local materials and drawing inspiration from the regional culture is evident in the project's 4000 square meters of space. The use of teak, old elm, brick, and stone bamboo weaving mechanisms commonly found in local villages reflects the designer's commitment to showcasing the local architectural aesthetics.
