Hugo Charlet-berguerand Unveils Tomeo: A Unique Outdoor Metallic Chair

Hugo Charlet-berguerand presents Tomeo, a groundbreaking outdoor metallic chair that challenges traditional furniture design. Inspired by contemporary trends and aesthetic evolution, Tomeo boasts a distinctive geometry setting it apart from other chairs in its category.

Tomeo's surprising and innovative structure features a narrower seat than the backrest, with chair legs jutting out towards the sides and armrests protruding at a forty-five-degree angle. The chair's unique design gives the impression of suspended seat and backrest inside the structure, redefining the conventional chair form.

The chair's prototypes are made from plastic tubes and 3D printed pieces, with the final version to be crafted from welded bended steel pipes and metallic rods or plastic rubber for the seat. With dimensions of 510 x 560 x 820 without armrests and 590 x 550 x 820 with armrests, Tomeo offers a contemporary and elegant addition to outdoor spaces.

Charlet-berguerand's design process for Tomeo relied on a deep understanding of furniture history and contemporary society. The chair was meticulously crafted to be light, stackable, and to challenge the traditional chair structure, meeting essential consumer needs.

Designed in Milan, the project commenced in 2019 and culminated in 2020, showcasing Charlet-berguerand's dedication to redefining modern furniture. The chair's unique structure presented creative and technical challenges, which were overcome to deliver a product that is both innovative and robust.
