Discover the Inspiration and Innovation Behind the Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro Lamp
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ãlvaro Wolmer presents the Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro Lamp, a stunning piece inspired by a 1955 floor lamp created by the renowned Brazilian artist Waldemar Cordeiro. This contemporary interpretation harnesses the power of a 4W LED to produce a mesmerizing range of shades, from dark gray to pure white, through internal reflections and varying distances from the source to the white rings.
Constructed using solid aluminum and precision computerized machinery, this lamp stands at 54 cm high with a 30 cm diameter, weighing 3 kg. The finishing touch is an electrostatic painting, ensuring both durability and aesthetic appeal.
Notably, the luxury crate accompanying the lamp serves a dual purpose as a base, adding a functional and elegant dimension to the design.
The project commenced in March 2017 in São Paulo, culminating in its completion in October 2018. The recreation of Cordeiro's original lamp was spearheaded by Analivia Cordeiro, the artist's collection curator, and Luciana Brito Galeria, with a vision to revive the timeless beauty of the original creation using contemporary materials and techniques.
Ãlvaro Wolmer's innovative approach overcame the challenges posed by the original design, resulting in a single LED round lamp that delivers a remarkable luminous effect. The on/off press button located underneath the lamp ensures effortless operation, adding to the seamless user experience.
