"Cense of Poem" - A Unique Incense Packing Design

Wei-Hsuan Liu's "Cense of Poem" is a unique incense packing design inspired by the concept of poetry. The design encapsulates the characters of the text within the incense and its holder, symbolizing the emotions released from the words and lines. The three series in different colors represent various marks seen in daily life, such as comma, dash, and exclamation mark.

The translucent boxes with matte wrapping symbolize the shape and flow of the smoke, while the different colors correspond to the various colors of the incense sticks. Each box features specific graphic designs that match the features and scents of the incense sticks inside, delivering a mysterious and poetic image.

The boxes are made of acrylic with laser engraving, and the design comes in two sizes: large (110mm*110mm*40mm) and small (70mm*70mm*55mm).

The project started in Taichung, Taiwan in August 2022, was completed in Taichung, Taiwan in April 2023, and exhibited in Taipei, Taiwan in May 2023. The design was awarded Bronze in A' Packaging Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness.
