FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Zi Quan Lim, a Malaysian student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Design Communication, has created an ambitious motion graphic project titled "134340." The project reimagines the song by international Korean pop idol group BTS, visualizing dwarf planet Pluto and the Solar System in outer spaces, capturing the lyrical content of the song and bringing it to life through stunning visuals.
Designed entirely in Cinema 4D, "134340" fuses 3D polygons and flat colors to bring out the simplicity of the design. The visual focuses on each shape's speeds and movements, purposely designed for rhythmic fitting with the music. The project showcases the final video, an A3 concept board poster, and a 2A0 visual poster, further promoting the project with individual arts printed as Kiss Cut stickers for the public.
The project started in June 2019 in Kuala Lumpur and finished in mid-August 2019 in Selangor, and was exhibited in The One Gallery of The One Academy in late August until early September 2019. Lim's passion for research and motion graphics helped him create a benchmark of his own visual images project, which was recognized with a Silver prize at the 2019 Kancil Awards, a Malaysia annual advertising awards competition.
