Renowned designer Jiawen Li presents "Overpacked," a unique packaging design addressing overpacking issues, inspired by building blocks and aimed at children's creativity and sustainability.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jiawen Li's "Overpacked" is a revolutionary packaging design that tackles the issue of overpacking, particularly prevalent in China. The design is a package of pastries, intended as a gift for families with young children during festivals. Inspired by building blocks, the packaging features monster-like facial designs, promoting creativity and imagination in children.
The unique aspect of "Overpacked" lies in its dual functionality. Once the pastries are consumed, the packaging can be recycled and transformed into building blocks, providing an interactive and sustainable play experience for children.
The project commenced in Xiamen, China, in April 2019, and was completed in Chengdu, China, in January 2020. Jiawen Li's innovative approach has garnered recognition, with "Overpacked" receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. This accolade highlights the design's exceptional creativity, resourcefulness, and contribution to sustainability and quality of life improvements.
