Lei Zhao, the renowned designer and founder of Hillstone Design, has unveiled a breathtaking residential project, Bologna. This private house, located in Haicheng, Liaoning, China, is a testament to the fusion of passion, speed, and classic elegance. Inspired by the client's unique tastes and love for Ducati, the design exudes an extraordinary and sculptural atmosphere, redefining modern living.

The 350-square meter, 3-floor residence, completed in August 2018, is a harmonious blend of marble, black steel, leather, glass, and wood, creating a restrained yet luxurious ambiance. The design reflects the client's eclectic and independent personality, capturing the essence of a modern and simple post-modern home style.

Challenges were overcome to seamlessly integrate the client's passion for motorcycles, particularly the iconic Ducati, into the interior. The result is a minimalistic design that pays homage to Italian art and an elegant lifestyle, while celebrating the client's enthusiasm and unique hobby.

Recognized for its exceptional creativity and resourcefulness, Bologna was honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, a testament to Lei Zhao's unparalleled expertise in residential interior design. With over 18 years of experience, Lei Zhao and the Hillstone Design team continue to elevate living spaces, creating environments that transcend mere functionality, becoming an extension of self and a means of self-expression.
