NewDays: Cross-Platform Desktop Application for Enhanced Team Communication and Collaboration

As the work environment continues to evolve in response to the pandemic, the need for effective remote team management has become increasingly crucial. NewDays, a cross-platform desktop application, is designed to bridge the gap created by the absence of face-to-face interactions, empowering managers to lead their teams in a completely virtual setting.

NewDays offers a home page dashboard for managers to monitor important tasks, collaborative welcome cards for team sharing, project overviews with timelines, and dedicated resource sections for efficient workflow transitions. Additionally, the kudos page highlights team performances in an informal manner, fostering a positive team culture.

The design and realization of NewDays involved the use of various tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, After Effect, and Miro Board, along with extensive research utilizing user journey maps and service blueprints to ensure a seamless user experience.

The project, initiated in September 2021 through remote collaboration, continues to evolve with ongoing updates to meet new needs and challenges in the remote work environment. The design team, led by Inn Sun Park, includes Gabriela Sudirja, Jing Qiao, and Yoyo Dong, who have contributed to the product's development and success.

Through in-depth research, including affinity diagrams, interviews, and usability testing, the team identified and addressed the pain points experienced by managers in the current remote work environment. Multiple design iterations and A/B testing were conducted to refine the product, resulting in a comprehensive solution tailored to the needs of remote team management.

Inn Sun Park, a UX/UI and visual designer based in California, USA, is the driving force behind NewDays. Her dedication to creating friendly user experiences for digital products, combined with her multidisciplinary skills, has culminated in the development of this innovative cross-platform desktop application.
