Armen Khechadoorian introduces Aurora, a unique laptop desk, inspired by curved wooden furniture and the Porsche 918 exhaust pipe, designed to provide comfort and functionality for laptop users.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Armen Khechadoorian's Aurora laptop desk is a unique curved design element with a detailed smart notch, allowing for easy charging regardless of the outlet's location. The use of quality light materials results in a comfortable and lightweight product, while the smart notch protects the charging cable from potential damage due to excessive bending.
Aurora was made using 1/4'' bending boards glued and bent together, with a solid walnut smart notch and edging. The desk is covered with 'A grade' walnut veneer and stained with a clear toner finish. With dimensions of 762mm x 304mm x 241mm, Aurora is designed for multi-device use and features ergonomic elements to promote comfort and prevent strain.
The project started in January 2020 in Irvine, California, and was completed in February 2020. The main focus of the project was the smart notch, aimed at making it both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The design also faced challenges in achieving a cohesive walnut look throughout the product, especially inside the smart notch, and in bending the boards at the curved area.
Armen Khechadoorian, an innovative custom woodworker with 13 years of international experience, specializes in luxury interior projects.
