Shatron, a modular trumpet mute system, is a high-performance musical instrument designed by E.Aparo, L.Soares, J.Teixeira, and J.Passos, inspired by the geometric hipped roof iconographic element from the early 14th century in North Russia, aiming to enhance sound quality and ecological responsibility.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shatron is a modular trumpet mute system based on simple geometry, designed to improve sound quality and reflect ecological responsibility. The mute system is produced using three-dimensional printing technology with polymeric filaments reinforced with carbon fiber, ensuring great rigidity. The wooden sheets of different densities allow for sound customization, catering to the needs of the trumpeter.
The trumpet mute system measures 150mm in height, 84mm in width, and weighs 80 grams. It offers a warm tone different from metal mute systems, with the possibility of configuring muting using different types of wood, making it flexible for various audiences.
Produced entirely in the north of Portugal, Shatron has undergone extensive testing by trumpeters, including teachers and students of the Arteam Professional Music School of Alto Minho, over a two-year period. The project involved various entities, including Double Concept Bar, Paredes' Moveis Aja companies, Atelier Rps Aveiro, Renderixphotos, and Ponto de Vista Audiovisuais.
Altempo, the team behind Shatron, is dedicated to creating new configurations and interpreting fundamental concepts such as innovation, change, and sustainability to improve people's lives. Based on the hermeneutic methodology, Altempo Research Design Group constantly diagnoses situations to develop singular products and services with meaning, considering time, space, circumstances, and human nature.
