Zhangyan Country Living Festival, designed by Jiaqing Wu, presents a sustainable and innovative exhibition space that integrates rural history and culture with the Memphis school's creativity. The project was completed in Shanghai from August to November 2019, aiming to lead China's rural revitalization with innovation and sustainability.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jiaqing Wu's design for the Zhangyan Country Living Festival exhibition space stands out as an urban-rural co-creation innovation experiment. The space is constructed using local abandoned containers and discarded native resources, such as wood, straw, and reeds, to convey the message of sustainability. The project covers 5000 square meters of activity space, providing a dynamic thematic exhibition area.
The innovative design integrates the Memphis school's style, abstracting elements with the local characteristics of Zhangyan Village to form the visual identity of the event. The space is creatively combined with the original resources of the site, establishing a recyclable overall system to reduce waste and stimulate sustainability.
The project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in event and happening design.
