CHEANG Hoi Fung's interior design project, West Cullinan, harmoniously blends sea views with luxury elements, creating a contemporary, multi-layered space that exudes elegance and functionality.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHEANG Hoi Fung's West Cullinan project is a testament to the seamless fusion of luxury and functionality. The design concept, characterized by the mantra "less is more," draws inspiration from the timeless appeal of form following function. The interior space effortlessly integrates the sea view from the balcony, creating a harmonious ambiance through reflective wall finishes and a minimal fixture concept. Zoning is subtly achieved through a multi-layered ceiling and the strategic use of various wall materials. The application of tiny and elegant St. Louis lighting serves to highlight the luxurious background of the materials, further enhancing the overall aesthetic.
What sets West Cullinan apart is its contemporary luxury style, characterized by a contrast of materials that exudes elegance. The high headroom allows for a spectacular ceiling design, featuring multi-layered elements combined with different materials and lighting effects. The storage cabinets, finished with luxurious materials, not only add to the aesthetic appeal but also fulfill functional requirements, showcasing the project's strengths and unique features.
The realization of this design involved a meticulous focus on refined details to enhance the luxury and high-end design touch. From all-rounded edges in ceiling profiles to custom-made recessed light fittings in unique colors, every aspect was carefully crafted to achieve the desired effect. The materials used, including laminated feature glass with unique fabric, resin hand-made pattern wall panels, smoky frost pattern tinted mirror, anodized metal trim, wall fabric, vinyl cover, St. Louis pendant lights, and Minnoti sofa, further contribute to the project's technical specifications and overall appeal.
CHEANG Hoi Fung's West Cullinan project was brought to life by a dedicated team, including Mia Wong, Winnie Mok, Kenneth So, and William Tong, who contributed to its successful realization. The project, which commenced in April 2020 in Hong Kong, was completed in December 2020 and showcased by a local TV channel to demonstrate the design and technical aspects.
Despite its remarkable achievements, West Cullinan was not without its challenges. The project required the new design to seamlessly blend into the existing space, harmonizing with M & E services and basic finishes provisions while overcoming budget and timeline constraints. The result is a testament to CHEANG Hoi Fung's ability to overcome creative, technical, and research challenges, delivering a design that exceeds expectations.
