Aqua: Transforming Residential Spaces with Landscape Design

Alp Esin's Aqua project is a transformative landscape design endeavor located in Ä°zmir, Turkey. The project aims to create a vibrant and inclusive green area that caters to the diverse social fabric of the community. By incorporating the wishes and needs of the future site residents, Aqua is divided into different sections to fulfill various requirements.

The project stands out due to its emphasis on social diversity, aiming to bring joy to people of different ages and backgrounds. The design is characterized by its multifunctional use, vibrant colors, and an organic integration of the characteristic landscape, creating a welcoming and democratic space for all.

Utilizing a variety of materials with different hardness levels tailored to specific activities, the Aqua project is designed to cater to the diverse needs of the community. The 12,800 square meter landscape area is divided into three distinct parts, each serving a unique purpose, including the middle part, the cliffy prow part, and the commercial section at the front facade.

Despite facing challenges in meeting the diverse needs and social status of the residents, Alp Esin successfully overcame these obstacles, resulting in a well-deserved recognition. The Aqua project was honored with the Iron A' Design Award in 2020, a testament to its practicality, innovation, and fulfillment of professional and industrial requirements.
