Mondselle's Midnight Garden: A Fusion of Nature's Brilliance and Artistic Craftsmanship

Step into the enchanting world of Midnight Garden, a mesmerizing two-way pendant and brooch meticulously crafted by Aye Nyein Pyu, the creative force behind Mondselle. Inspired by the vibrant, uninhabited gardens deep in the forest, this exquisite piece captures the untamed beauty of nature under a moonlit sky. The design encapsulates the designer's wish for Burma to be as free and independent as the thriving spirits of the garden's flora and fauna.

The unique properties of Midnight Garden lie in its burst of colors, symbolizing the free-spirited nature of untamed flowers and wildlife. From the ruby flowers peeping through the sapphire blue night sky to the intricate details of the dragonfly, every element exudes movement and energy, celebrating the soul of the garden alive and burning with passion.

Utilizing modern 3D modeling and wax printing alongside centuries-old lost wax casting and stone setting techniques, the realization of Midnight Garden exemplifies the alchemy of new and old traditions of jewelry making. The piece, crafted from 18k white and yellow gold, showcases a stunning array of precious gemstones, including Spessartine garnet, sapphires, alexandrites, rubies, emeralds, and diamonds.

With dimensions of approximately 68mm x 50mm, the design features a hidden bail for wearing it as a necklace and a separate mechanism for donning it as a brooch. The meticulous attention to detail and the fusion of modern and traditional techniques make Midnight Garden a truly one-of-a-kind statement piece.

Midnight Garden was conceived in Toronto, with the design process commencing in March 2020 and the final product completed in September 2020. The piece reflects the designer's in-depth research, from studying the movement and colors of the dragonfly to observing the interconnected nature of ecosystems, all culminating in this breathtaking creation.

As a testament to its exceptional design, Midnight Garden was honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2022. This prestigious accolade recognizes the outstanding creativity and technical prowess showcased in this captivating piece.
