B Fora: Redefining the Classic Greek Amphora

Nicolau dos Santos introduces B Fora, a stunning reinterpretation of the classic Greek amphora, blending ancient aesthetics with modern design. Inspired by the beauty and harmony of the Greek concept of body perfection, B Fora presents a contemporary take on the graceful female body silhouette, offering a new perspective on modern beauty.

The B Fora vase boasts unique properties, meticulously crafted to perfectly fit modern home interiors. Its curvy curves and straight handles are designed to maintain balance, while the waterproof coating enables the containment of liquids. The vase is realized by Italian master ceramist Michele Puzzo, using traditional pottery techniques and slipcasting technology.

Featuring whiteware ceramic material and various external finishes, the B Fora vase stands at 165 x 120 x 350 mm and weighs 1200g. Each piece is packaged in white recycled cardboard with a foam layer for protection during shipping.

Functionally versatile, B Fora can be used for serving beverages, holding flowers, and enhancing interior decor. The project commenced in March 2019, with a meticulous design and prototyping phase lasting over three months. The production and packaging took place in Milan, Italy, culminating in the creation of 70 unique vases.

Rooted in extensive research, B Fora draws from historical, psychological, and alchemical symbolism associated with vases and femininity. Overcoming technical challenges, the design harmoniously merges the classic amphora with the curves of a self-confident woman, resulting in an iconic ceramic masterpiece.
