Yoshiaki Ito unveils MoFU, a line of transforming toys that double as brainteaser puzzles, inspired by Japanese origami, Kumiki puzzles, and Transformers.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yoshiaki Ito introduces MoFU, a line of transforming toys that double as brainteaser puzzles. Each MoFU unfolds into a different animal - pig, monkey, tiger, hippo, and giraffe - with cute and iconic features, providing a unique and challenging puzzle experience. The toys are 3D-printed using 100% recycled PET plastic and finished with polyshot surfacing and deep-dye coloring for safe use by children and maximum lifespan.
MoFU emerge from identically shaped boxes and transform into different animal figures with articulated joints, utilizing elastic bands as tendons and ligaments for maximum transformability and infinite possible poses. The project development started in Brooklyn, NY in April 2018, with each animal completed over the course of 2018 and 2019.
Yoshiaki Ito's MoFU was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in the Toys, Games, and Hobby Products Design category in 2020, recognizing its outstanding creativity and impact on the world.
