Coral Teapot by Swee Tuan Pang

Swee Tuan Pang, a Singaporean ceramic artist, pays homage to childhood beach memories with the "Coral - Rhythm of the Seas" teapot series. Inspired by the intricate details of corals, this teapot embodies cultural inclusivity and innovative design.

The teapot's single handle allows for versatile handling from all directions, while the incorporation of the lid's design into the handle creates a seamless flow around the entire form. Crafted from coil-constructed earthenware with shino glaze, this teapot stands at 125mm x 90mm x 165mm and was completed in February 2013.

Despite creative and technical challenges, including the construction of the handle and the intricate coral texture, Pang's dedication shines through. His work has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2020, showcasing outstanding expertise and innovation in fine arts and art installation design.
