Introducing Bucky, a parametric dome tent designed by Kuber Patel, envisioned to transform the way people experience galleries.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kuber Patel introduces Darwin Bucky, a traveling gallery inspired by Buckminster Fuller's geodesic dome. Bucky is a complete set of parts that can be assembled and disassembled on-site, designed for repurposing and minimal environmental impact. The structure, made of 1mm mild steel, spans 10 meters in diameter and 6 meters in height without beams or columns, offering a versatile space for exhibitions, performances, and more.
Bucky's innovative design allows it to be placed in public gardens, exhibition grounds, or city squares, always providing a temporary yet permanent space, given a flat ground. The structure's avant-garde joinery system makes it leakproof and conceals over 70% of its 2800 bolts, ensuring efficiency and ease of assembly. With a panel size that can be handled by one person, Bucky offers a unique and efficient solution for temporary architectural needs.
Designed for all seasons, Bucky's unique features include its ability to be transported in a 6-meter shipping container and assembled into a 100 square meter gallery within days. It challenges the traditional notion of a gallery by integrating the building itself as part of the exhibition, transforming the way people interact with both the building and the exhibits inside it.
