Qianying Niu Unveils Innovative Liquor Packaging Inspired by Zen and Chinese Culture

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Reviving Tradition with Sustainable Design

Renowned designer Qianying Niu introduces "Bamboo Slips," a groundbreaking Chinese liquor packaging design that intertwines Zen philosophy, ancient Chinese culture, and sustainability. The design, which won the Silver A' Design Award in 2023, features a non-label approach and sustainable materials, solving the recycling dilemma prevalent in the liquor industry.

The design draws inspiration from the use of bamboo slips in ancient China, incorporating a Chinese poem, The Decree of Wine, carved on the bamboo slips inside the package. This unique approach offers consumers a cultural reading experience, enriching the enjoyment of the liquor.

Measuring 150mm*120mm*300mm, the design blends calligraphy, bamboo slips, and an intricately shaped bottle to revive the reading and drinking cultures central to Asian society. The project, which commenced in August 2022 in Paris and concluded in November 2022 in Shanghai, is a testament to Niu's dedication to sustainable and culturally rich design.
