Perception: Redefining Cafe Spaces in Seoul

Feelament, a multidisciplinary architecture firm, has unveiled "Perception," a unique cafe design project located in Seoul, South Korea. Inspired by the concept of personal perception, the design aims to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for visitors while offering a centralized open-preparation zone for baristas to showcase their skills.

The most striking feature of the cafe is the "Shading tree," a ceiling object that not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also creates an unusual spatial effect, providing a medium for visitors to immerse themselves in the ambiance while enjoying their coffee.

Utilizing digital fabrication technology, the design team meticulously crafted the "Shading tree" to ensure both acoustic performance and visual appeal. The project, which commenced in December 2018 and concluded in April 2019, has garnered attention for its innovative approach to cafe design.
