You and We Visual Language Design Project

YuJin Jung's "You and We" project is a visual language design that focuses on promoting volunteer work and positive social change. Inspired by the idea of making volunteer work more accessible and appealing, the project features 54 graphics, 15 illustrations, and 14 icons, all aimed at representing various aspects of volunteer activities. The design is based on basic shapes and the concept of LEGO, allowing for easy recombination and expansion.

The project, which started in April 2019 and finished in June 2019 in the Republic of Korea, involved extensive research, including surveys, interviews, and discussions with volunteers. YuJin Jung collected data from 83 volunteer activities and used this information to create visual assets that effectively communicate the different aspects of volunteer work.

Utilizing Adobe Illustrator, the visual assets were designed in a modular fashion, ensuring that they can be used in a multi-purpose way. The project also includes a manual book with a format of AI, SVG, PNG, JPG, and PDF, providing comprehensive guidance on the use of the visual assets.

YuJin Jung's "You and We" project challenges the stereotype of volunteer work being solely about helping those in need. Instead, it aims to highlight the positive interaction between volunteers and the recipients, making volunteer work more relatable and engaging for the public.
