Cobra Pendant Light Design

Catarina Santos, a Portuguese designer, has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award for her exceptional Cobra Pendant Light design. The Cobra Pendant Light is a unique and thought-provoking lighting product that challenges the traditional concept of a pendant light, transforming it into an art installation that conveys a powerful message about the relationship between artificial lighting and nature.

The Cobra Pendant Light is a result of Santos' exploration of the profound relationship between light and vision, drawing inspiration from the interconnectedness of human beings and nature. The design aims to create a dialogue between artificial lighting and nature, inviting individualized thinking that goes beyond the collective perception of lighting products.

Constructed using aluminum sheet bending technology and equipped with the latest generation LED technology by Philips, the Cobra Pendant Light features a distinctive asymmetrical and fluid shape, resembling a snake in motion. It is designed to be installed with an indoor garden, creating a specific language and conveying a message about the connection between nature and human actions.
