Euphoria Spa Lighting Design

The Spa at the Euphoria Retreat, located in Mystras, Greece, unveils a groundbreaking lighting design by Anna Sbokou and Matina Magklara. The four-story, 3,000 m2 spa, carved into the base of a mountain, offers a unique and immersive sensory experience. The lighting strategy choreographs transitions through spaces using light, sound, temperature, humidity, textures, and smells to create a peaceful and subversive ambiance.

The lighting for each space was considered a unique piece, contributing to the crescendo of the ultimate relaxation experience. Custom luminaires imitate daylight conditions, harmonizing transitions through spaces and enhancing the immersive architecture. The project was completed within 2.5 years, offering a holistic immersive experience where light becomes a silent protagonist, playing with human senses and seamlessly integrating with the architecture.

The project was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding and trendsetting design that significantly impacts the world with its desirable characteristics.
