Discover the award-winning design of Lens and Space, a glasses shop in Hsinchu, Taiwan, which creatively integrates concave and convex lens characteristics into its architectural elements.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
kailun huang's Lens and Space is a groundbreaking glasses shop design that ingeniously incorporates the characteristics of concave and convex lenses into its architectural elements. By utilizing expanded mesh with varying hole sizes, the design showcases the effects of clearance and vagueness, presenting twisted and tilted images on the ceiling and display cabinetry. The property of convex lenses, altering the sizes of objects, is expressed on the exhibition wall, creating a truly unique spatial experience for glasses products.
The design, realized using expanded mesh, glass, and steel, spans 3500mmÃ10000Ã3000 and was brought to life in 2017 in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Overcoming the creative and technical challenges of translating lens characteristics into design elements, kailun huang's team has successfully crafted a space that offers an exclusive and immersive experience for visitors.
Recognized for its exceptional innovation and expertise, Lens and Space was honored with the Silver A' Design Award in 2020, a testament to its outstanding technical and artistic prowess. The design has set a new standard in retail and exhibition spaces, captivating visitors with its remarkable level of excellence and evoking positive emotions and wonder.
