FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ryuji Yamashita's "With Four Children" is a unique house design that aims to foster family connection. The house, designed for a couple and their four children, features integrated spaces for the children, allowing them to feel connected even when in their own rooms. The innovative design includes steps and windows between the children's rooms, creating a large desk space when the windows are open, where the children can study face-to-face. The design also emphasizes the use of glass to connect the children's rooms to the first floor, creating a space that connects the family at various distances.
The design specifications include a site area of 300.38m2, a building area of 69.56m2, and a total floor area of 125.65m2. The project was realized from June 2021 to October 2021 and is located in Sapporo, Japan.
Ryuji Yamashita's "With Four Children" was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the A' Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2022, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that fosters family connection and contributes to quality of life improvements.
