Contital launches a patented range of eco-friendly aluminium plates, offering a sustainable solution for the catering industry and consumers.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contital has unveiled a groundbreaking range of aluminium plates, providing a sustainable alternative to non-recyclable disposable plates. With the impending dismissal of traditional plastic plates due to the EU Directive 2019/904, Contital's 100% recyclable aluminium plates offer a viable eco-friendly solution for wholesalers, catering chains, and consumers.
The aluminium plates are designed to be an eco-friendly substitute for non-recyclable disposable plates, catering to the needs of the catering industry, Mass Market Retailers, and consumers. They are available in various sizes and shapes, suitable for serving a wide range of foods, including acidic and salty dishes. Notably, these plates are microwave and oven-safe, freezer-friendly, and can be customized with different internal and external colors.
Manufactured through a patented cold-moulding process using 100% recycled aluminium, the plates are made of an aluminium alloy of class 8000, with a thickness ranging from 60 to 90 microns. Despite their low thickness, the plates are engineered to ensure strength, making them suitable for transportation, sealing, and storage.
Contital's aluminium plates were officially launched at Fiera Marca in Bologna on 15-16 January 2020, marking a significant milestone in the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Recognized for its ingenuity, Contital's aluminium plates received the Bronze A' Design Award in the Disposable and Single-Use Product Design category in 2020. This accolade underscores the product's exceptional design, incorporating best practices in art, science, and technology, contributing to significant improvements in quality of life.
