Flaming Bloom: A Unique Art Gazebo by Wendi Wu

Wendi Wu's Flaming Bloom, an artistic resting gazebo, has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category for 2022. The project, located in Guangzhou Lingnan New World, draws inspiration from the city's nickname "City of Flowers" and serves as a symbol of natural ecological growth. The unique design features a large flower-shaped gate, reflecting the surrounding scenery in spiral stainless steel, creating an illusion of movement and change as visitors interact with the structure.

Flaming Bloom serves as an artistic resting gazebo, providing shelter from intense sunlight while symbolizing the shape of a flower. The design incorporates specially developed twisted unit pieces and a plating process, allowing the twisted mirrors to reflect the surrounding scenery in three dimensions from curved surfaces. The eco-dome, composed of curved units, mirrors an illusion as visitors move through it, creating a captivating experience.

The realization of Flaming Bloom involved the deliberate development of twisted unit elements and an electroplating process to showcase the details of natural ecological growth. The project's innovative approach to mechanized product design, including a patented processing technique, sets it apart as a unique and visually stunning addition to public space.
