In 2008, three university classmates from Aachen, Germany, embarked on a mission to simplify travel booking. This led to the creation of a revolutionary travel search engine that prioritizes flexibility and choice for travelers. The website, designed by Saltanat Tashibayeva, offers a transparent and comprehensive platform that empowers users to find the most suitable travel options, whether it's the fastest, cheapest, or most eco-friendly mode of transport.

The standout feature of this travel search engine is its commitment to providing diverse options without assuming the traveler's preferences. By incorporating parallel searches for airplanes, trains, car-sharing, and buses, the platform eliminates the need for multiple applications, streamlining the entire travel planning process.

Powered by a user-centric approach, the website ensures that every individual's unique journey needs are met. The project, which began in 2008 and underwent a global redesign in 2020, reflects the dedication of a diverse international team spanning over 30 countries. The team's meticulous research and adoption of innovative methodologies, such as the Jobs To Be Done approach, have been instrumental in shaping the product's evolution.

One of the key challenges overcome in the project was the development of an algorithm to swiftly and effectively generate optimal travel routes and facilitate one-click ticket purchases. The minimalist design approach, combined with comprehensive information delivery, posed a unique creative challenge that the team successfully navigated.

Saltanat Tashibayeva, the Senior Product Designer at fromAtoB, has brought her extensive experience and expertise to the forefront in creating a design system specific to the company.
