Nancy Zhang's "Shapes of Light" is a collaboration with Johnstons of Elgin, expressing diverse forms of light through woven cashmere scarves.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nancy Zhang's "Shapes of Light" is a special collaboration with Johnstons of Elgin, featuring three unique designs: Sunrise, Building Light, and Moonlight. These designs draw inspiration from natural phenomena and are expressed through woven cashmere scarves.
The collaboration marks the first time Nancy has expressed her illustration arts with textile technology, resulting in a fusion of fashion design and artistic endeavor. Each scarf is a tangible, wearable art piece, reflecting the theme of "The Shape of Light" and Nancy's personal illustration project "Light seeker."
The scarves are manufactured in Johnstons of Elgin, with an average of 33 craftspeople contributing to the making of each cashmere scarf. The signature ripple finish is achieved using traditional hand-worked teasels, resulting in a beautifully soft handle.
Nancy's "Shapes of Light" scarves are available in Shanghai, China, and are a testament to the successful collaboration between the designer and Johnstons of Elgin.
