Mateusz Obarek introduces the SU-2 Kiteboards Etno Collection, a vibrant and innovative line of kiteboards inspired by African roots, designed to conquer the skies.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mateusz Obarek, a renowned member of the Association of Applied Graphic Designers, has unveiled the SU-2 Kiteboards Etno Collection, a striking series of kiteboards inspired by African roots. The collection, realized with digital print design, wood, and carbon board technology, features colorful masks reminiscent of flying shields in the hands of warriors, symbolizing the spirit of overcoming boundaries and conquering the skies.
The SU-2 Kiteboards Etno Collection consists of 5 types of boards, each designed for different activities such as lighwind, freestyle, and split boards. With dimensions ranging from 450 mm x 50 mm x 1480 mm to 1550 mm, these boards are composed of wood and carbon, offering both strength and agility.
Mateusz Obarek, along with designer Maciej PokoÅski, led the creative team behind this unique collection, which was conceptualized in 2017 and brought to life in Poland by 2019. The design process involved in-depth research into the kitesurfing market, aiming to infuse the collection with a leading idea based on the personality of the sport, setting it apart from the geometric abstract motives prevalent in the industry.
Recognized for its outstanding innovation and creative prowess, the SU-2 Kiteboards Etno Collection was honored with the Silver A' Design Award in 2020, a testament to its exceptional technical characteristics and remarkable artistic skill. Mateusz Obarek's dedication to combining functionality with art, inspired by the eclectic heritage of the region, has resulted in a collection that not only embodies excellence but also promotes cultural and economic potential.
