Illustration of The Sacred City

Tsutomu Kitazawa's "The Sacred City" is a high fantasy video game illustration that captures the grandeur of a symbolic sanctuary where kings gather to receive blessings from the Gods. Inspired by the magnificent presence of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, Kitazawa fused Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles to create a unique world that evokes a sense of awe and reverence.

This ongoing project experiments with the visual representation of complex worlds, aiming to create key visuals for future video games. The illustration, created using Adobe Photoshop 2020 and hand drawing based on photo bashing, showcases continuous experiments with the visual representation of these legendary worlds.

The artwork, with dimensions of 7700 pixels x 3500 pixels at 150dpi, embodies the essence of high fantasy and game art, offering a glimpse into a world where legends come to life. Kitazawa's unique approach to realizing this design sets it apart as a captivating and immersive piece of digital 2D art.
