Architect Keisuke Fukui's F House project, a residential building in Chiba prefecture, wins the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2023 for its innovative approach to fostering community connections.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Architect Keisuke Fukui's F House project is a residential building designed to foster community connections in a town where 75% of the households are newcomers. The project aims to combat the potential obsolescence of the area due to the aging population by creating a space that strengthens ties between residents and improves the town's livability.
The F House project is an architect's home and office, featuring an open first floor with an office and café where townspeople can casually drop by, fostering a more living community. The design visualizes the local plant-sharing network through forest-like architecture, establishing it as part of the local culture.
The building has been certified as excellent long-term housing in Japan, with outstanding structural, thermal insulation, maintenance, and variable performance. It stands roughly 10 meters tall on a site area of 135.79 m2, with a building area of 80.3 m2 and a total floor area of 168.79 m2.
