Shih-Pei Huang's Hak Hi Kong project for Yong An Fishing Port wins Silver A' Design Award for Graphics and Visual Communication
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shih-Pei Huang's Hak Hi Kong project for Yong An Fishing Port has been awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award for Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication in 2020. The project, aimed at rebranding the Yong An Fishing Port, introduces a new visual style and concept that is unique to the Hakka community, making it a truly Hakka's port with a rich cultural visual identity.
The proposal utilizes three key concepts to rebuild the CI system for Yong An Fishing Port. It includes a new logo created with specific visual material extracted from the cultural characteristics of the Hakka community, reinventing the entertainment experience, and creating two mascot characters to guide tourists into the port. Additionally, the plan includes the development of nine spots inside the port, surrounded by entertainment activities and delicious cuisines.
Furthermore, the project incorporates technology to immerse guests in the experience, allowing them to inadvertently become a part of the Hakka community. The new identity color scheme is designed to be coherent with the original colors of the existing buildings at the Yong An Fishing Port, unifying the overall visual aesthetic.
Shih-Pei Huang, a visual artist from Taiwan, is passionate about preserving and promoting culture. Through her transformative work, she aims to bring attention to the importance of cultural continuity and contribute to its preservation.
