Lu One Signage System Design

Zesion Design presents the "Lu One" signage system, a stunning addition to the high-end villa residence in Luzhou, Anhui, China. The design draws inspiration from the ancient poem "a pot of wine between flowers," symbolizing the leading human settlements in Anhui. By abandoning excessive decoration, the system achieves a luxurious aesthetic through the manipulation of shapes, textures, and lighting, creating a visually captivating experience for residents and visitors.

This signage system stands out with its unique approach to wayfinding, combining map and pointing functions to reduce the number of landing signs while maintaining a cohesive and integrated appearance within the architectural landscape. The use of translucent brown ECO resin plates and metal plates allows for a seamless blend with the surroundings, offering visibility during the day and eye-catching illumination at night.

The "Lu One" signage system features a unified design language, echoing the modern design style of the building itself. By integrating map and pointing functions, the system minimizes the need for excessive signage, contributing to a more sustainable and visually appealing environment.

The project was commissioned in Shanghai in July 2019 and completed and installed in Hefei in October 2019, showcasing the dedication and meticulous attention to detail in its realization. The design team overcame various challenges, including the production of glass bricks for the main entrance and the selection of translucent environmentally friendly resin, to bring the "Lu One" signage system to life.

Zesion Design, based in Shanghai, China, has been recognized for its exceptional work, with the "Lu One" signage system winning the Silver A' Design Award in 2020. This prestigious accolade highlights the innovative and creative approach of the design, setting a new standard for visual communication and wayfinding solutions.
