Germination: Immersive Digital Installation by Atsushi Kobayashi

Atsushi Kobayashi's "Germination" is an immersive digital installation that captivates audiences with its unique blend of art, technology, and nature. The installation, which features an industrial robot arm, lighting, and plants, symbolizes the hope for a return to a peaceful world and the resilience of life.

The installation takes viewers on a journey as the robot arm, choreographed as a sprout, germinates from the ground, sways in the wind, and eventually blooms, accompanied by sound and LED lighting effects. The show, operated by a user-friendly control system, offers a 3-minute immersive experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Developed in Tokyo and exhibited at Go Tech, Tokyo, "Germination" showcases the seamless integration of art and technology, with the use of projection mapping, LED roots, and a specially designed show control system. The installation received support from Wing Robotics and Fanuc, overcoming technical challenges to bring the designer's vision to life.
