FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Qiang Wang's Tea and Zen is a serene teahouse located in an old street near Beijing Road Pedestrian Street in Guangzhou. The design aims to create a natural space within the city, featuring a rectangular patio and atrium that allow the small space to flow seamlessly. The teahouse stands out with a facade of red volcanic rock, exuding both attitude and modesty, and is a recipient of the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022.
The teahouse, 4.3 meters wide, 20 meters long, and three and a half stories high, is a testament to Wang's creative spirit. The use of volcanic rock, sensitive floor, tinning resistant paint, and fanpin wood veneer contributes to the unique ambiance of the space, while the triangular roof opening extends from the gate into the reception area on the first floor.
Wang's design reflects a deep understanding of the spiritual realm of Taoism, aligning with the quiet and tranquil character of tea. The teahouse, though not large in size, creates an illusion of spaciousness through the interplay of shadow, symmetry, and the enduring essence of tea.
