Catom: Multifunctional Cat Hair Comb

Catom is a revolutionary 2-in-1 pet grooming tool that combines the functions of a cat comb and a lint roller, providing a new design concept for pet hair removal products. The product is designed by Zihang Cheng, a talented industrial design student from Nanchang University, China.

The Catom's body is made of plastic with a skin-friendly frosted surface, and the tail sling is made of nylon, ensuring both comfort and durability. Measuring 200 mm x 40 mm x 70 mm, the upper part of the product features a cat hair comb grip designed with a raised snap, while the tail is designed with a snap for further fixed combination.

When in use, the top of the product serves as a cat hair comb, effectively removing floating hair from the cat during shedding season. The lower part functions as a hair roller, removing scattered and stuck cat hair. After use, the cat hair brush can be fixed on the main body of the roller with the snap at the end of the brush, allowing for convenient storage.

The project started in July 2022 at Yifeeling Design Studio and was completed in February 2023 at 425 Design Studio in Nanchang University. The design was inspired by the common practice of using a shedding brush and a lint roller for pet hair removal, leading to the creation of a single, multifunctional tool that simplifies the process for cat owners.

Zihang Cheng, the designer of Catom, is a promising talent in the field of industrial design, with a passion for solving everyday problems through innovative design. Born in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, China, Zihang is dedicated to creating impactful solutions with his motto, "small design also has big energy."
