Raymond LI's residential design project "Tears in Venice" reimagines open space to enhance familial interaction, completed in Taipei from May to September 2021.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Raymond LI's "Tears in Venice" is a residential design project that aims to create a more open space, fostering familial interaction and warmth. The design introduces light into the interior, maintaining ambiance from every perspective while keeping the fluidity of open space. The theme of the design is "FUSION," emphasizing the importance of open space in enhancing family relationships. The project measures 10000mm in width, 9000mm in depth, and 3000mm in height.
The design team, including Raymond Li, Tavia Fan, and Kevin Wang, focused on creating a living space that facilitates interaction among family members. The seamless connection between the living and dining rooms encourages conversation, while warm light and a semi-outdoor balcony add a new dimension to the living space.
The project, started in May 2021 in Taipei and finished in September 2021, was inspired by the concept of light as the soul of space. The design overcame challenges in merging two housing units, meeting legal requirements, and utilizing the existing structural elements to create a comfortable and open dynamic living space.
