Victor Weiss, a renowned visual branding designer, unveils Oliv, an extraordinary Extra Virgin Olive Oil brand from Sweden. Inspired by the minimalist movement and the beauty of a Frantoio tree farm in Sweden, Oliv represents a perfect blend of quality, class, and modernity. The project, initiated in May 2020 and completed in November 2020, faced challenges due to the pandemic, with the brand launch expected in early 2023.
Oliv stands out as one of the pioneers in growing Frantoio trees in Sweden and exporting worldwide, producing high-quality and exclusive olive oil. The packaging features a glass bottle with a glossy finish to showcase vibrant colors, while a specialty oil variant is presented in a clean, hand-printed matte label with blue textured foil. Both bottles are made from Borosilicate glass, and the packaging box exudes elegance with a matte logo and finely shredded timber made of hinoki wood, known for its fragrance.
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the choice of glass for the packaging, as it needed to be elegant, sustainable, and preserve the product quality. The team overcame this challenge by developing a unique semi-clear glass using a patented combination of Borosilicate glass and specific ingredients, ensuring the visibility and quality of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Victor Weiss, known for his contributions to the creative segment, has been awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design for Oliv, recognizing the brand's outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence. Oliv is set to inspire pride in the Swedish market and spark curiosity globally with its unique approach to olive oil production in a non-traditional climate.
