Life Ark: Redefining Public Seating with Nature-Inspired Design

Shangqiu Lin introduces "Life Ark," a groundbreaking outdoor leaflike public seat designed to enhance the bond between humans and nature. The inspiration behind this innovative creation stems from the natural form of leaves, symbolizing green life and vitality, resulting in a bionic design that promotes a connection with nature. The product offers not only a comfortable seating experience but also a unique blend of functionality and aesthetics, making it an ideal addition to parks and scenic spots.

The unique design of Life Ark combines the beauty of dynamic lines with a hollow structure, providing both decoration and leisure opportunities. Crafted from stainless steel, the product boasts an extended service life while effectively integrating natural elements to promote the concept of green life. The innovative realization technology involves the transformation of clay and foam into a hard material mold, followed by the meticulous forging and welding of stainless steel components, resulting in a durable and visually striking final product.

With dimensions of 2100mm in width, 1100mm in depth, and 630mm in height, Life Ark offers a spacious and comfortable seating experience. The design incorporates a range of user-friendly features, including a backrest angle of 0 to 108 degrees, ensuring versatility for activities such as reading, working, and relaxation. The grille design not only enhances water drainage but also provides superior breathability and comfort, adding to the overall appeal of the product.

Shangqiu Lin's visionary approach to the design of Life Ark reflects a deep understanding of the evolving role of public seating in urban environments. By reimagining traditional public seating with a focus on both form and function, the team has successfully created a product that enriches the user experience while conveying the essence of green life. The project, which commenced in Hangzhou in August 2021, culminated in the official listing of Life Ark in China in October 2022.

Shangqiu Lin's dedication to innovation and excellence has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Garden and Outdoor Furniture Design category in 2023.
