THAD Redesigns People's Hospital Outpatient and Emergency Medical Technology Complex in Pudong, Shanghai
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THAD, a leading architectural design institute, has undertaken a groundbreaking reconstruction and expansion project for the People's Hospital in Pudong, Shanghai. The project aims to address the existing traffic system and functional process problems, strengthen key departments, and enhance the hospital's overall environment and quality. The modernity of new buildings and the complexity of reconstruction and expansion set this project apart, with a focus on post-occupancy evaluation combined with Chinese traditional Yin-Yang theory.
The facade of the building is a blend of white aluminum and wood grain aluminum plate, with floor-to-ceiling windows widely used in the new building. The project spans 135,357 square meters, with an area of 45,108.7 square meters, and is set to be completed in 2025.
THAD's innovative approach involves systematic concepts and methods, addressing the challenges of human flow, logistics, and information flow within the hospital building. The project's complexity is divided into four parts: Demolition, Transition, Reconstruction, and Restoration, with meticulous attention to detail at each stage.
