FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Inspired by the warmth and durability of Siberian felt boots, Elena Zaznobina's ValenOK armchair combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. The chair's lightweight polymer frame and natural wool upholstery ensure both comfort and functionality, while the charming mitten pockets on the armrests add a nostalgic touch.
Constructed with safe plastic and filled with polyurethane, the chair's frame is complemented by a wool fabric with mohair content by Pierre Frey. Measuring 680mm in width, 700mm in depth, and 880mm in height, the ValenOK armchair offers a cozy and hugging shape, perfect for chilly days.
Zaznobina's design process involved extensive research into traditional wool felting techniques, aiming to incorporate the material's warmth and eco-friendly properties into modern furniture. The chair's development took place in Moscow, Russia, from September to November 2021, culminating in a unique piece that seamlessly blends tradition and innovation.
Recognized for its creative ingenuity, the ValenOK armchair was honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2022. This prestigious accolade celebrates the chair's exceptional design, which skillfully integrates traditional inspiration with contemporary functionality, contributing to an improved quality of life.
