Chen.chiawen's Mu Meilleur

Chen.chiawen introduces Mu Meilleur, a groundbreaking medical beauty clinic design that redefines the traditional concept of beauty and confidence. The clinic, located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, was completed in January 2022 and has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2023.

The design inspiration for Mu Meilleur stems from the need for a relaxing and private space within a medical beauty clinic. Chen.chiawen's use of arcs for femininity and sequential lines for professionalism and prudence sets a unique tone. The space is divided into an outer waiting area and an inner diagnosis and treatment area, separated by a striated glass door.

What sets Mu Meilleur apart is its innovative use of glass bricks, glass, artificial stone, and walnut to transform the space. The clinic, initially in low light due to its location on the first floor with a garden, underwent a transformation with the dismantling and rebuilding of walls using glass bricks to allow natural light to permeate the space. The entrance and waiting area walls were reconstructed with transparent glass bricks to promote the continuity of light, enhancing the overall ambiance.

Chen.chiawen's design prowess is evident in overcoming challenges such as using transparent structural glue for glass bricks and employing staggered and standing stacks to maintain both aesthetics and structural stability.

This project is a testament to Chen.chiawen's commitment to improving the quality of life through design. With a portfolio spanning living and commercial spaces in Taiwan and China, the company aims to continue providing exceptional design services to a wider audience in the future.
